The Escape from Folsom 10 Mile Trail Run and 5K Run/Walk will have a NEW course for 2015, with more fun trails, more flowers, and less steep climbs/descents. This race has a new and exciting course is still challenging, a custom tech race tee-shirt, hot post race food, plus awards three deep in each division for both races along with raffle prizes.
The Escape from Folsom 10 Miler starts along the shore of Folsom Lake and after a short section on pavement begins climbing the small hills of the shoreline for an out and back course that veers once to a scenic point along the lake and returns up some short but steep hills, with aid stations spread every 2 miles along the course. There is a climb up Mooney Ridge on the way back to the finish line.
Granite Bay State Park on Folsom lake is located at the end of Douglas Blvd, 5-6 miles East of I-80. Turn right at the third stop sign after entering the park for the Granite Beach parking lot. There is a $12 vehicle charge for day-use or $125 for an annual pass. Contact phone 916 988 0205.
