2013 Melbourne Art Festival Flamingo 5K:

  • The 25th Melbourne Art Festival 5K Flamingo Run was held Saturday, April 28th at 7:30 a.m.
  • The 5K Flamingo Run is the largest 5K race in Brevard County and has established the reputation as one of the best executed and most fun runs in Central Florida.
  • As the opening act for the annual Melbourne Art Festival (MAF), this premier event will host over 1700 runners and walkers for the 25th annual run.
  • The proceeds from the race are used to promote and encourage artistic endeavors, education, and appreciation in Brevard County.

  • The race starts on Melbourne Ave. just west of the US-1 overpass.
  • The 3.1 mile run begins along scenic Crane Creek and heads to the Melbourne Causeway (one lane closed to traffic) for a spectacular view of the Indian River.
  • A water stop marks the turnaround point to return over the bridge.
  • Climb the last hill on Depot Drive, turn right on E. New Haven Ave. and race to the finish line located by the MAF stage.
