The Funky Monkey 5K follows a USTAF-certified course through the University of South
Alabama campus with the start and finish at the Intramural fields. The first 250 participants to
pre-register are guaranteed a Funky Monkey moisture-wicking race t-shirt. Cotton t-shirts will
also be available on race day while supplies last. Everyone who registers is invited to the Funky
Monkey finish party where Cammies Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe will create Mobiles Biggest
Banana Split at 50-feet long! Hang out for chocolate milk, bananas, PB&J, door prizes, awards
and a costume contest!
The Fun Run is a 34 mile loop of the intramural field and starts at 8:45am. Kids up to 12-yearsold
are eligible to win awards! Pre-registered Fun Run participants receive a Funky Monkey tshirt.

Funky Monkey Charity Challenge
Recruit participants for the Funky Monkey 5K and your favorite charity could take home a
$1,000 grant from the Thompson Foundation! Its easy to participate in the Funky Monkey
Charity Challenge. Just write the name of the charity youre representing (must be a 501(c)3) on
your Funky Monkey 5K registration form. Then recruit more of your friends to join your team.
The charity with the largest participation will receive a grant for $1,000 on race day!
All proceeds from the Funky Monkey 5K and Fun Run benefit the Thompson Holdings
Foundation. The Foundation supports efforts to improve the quality of life in the communities
