Description

2013 Race for the Kids Duathlon:

  • Join us Saturday, June 1 at 8:00 a.m. (Central) at Hutsonville City Park in Hutsonville, IL for the fifth annual Race for the Kids.
  • Participants may compete in the 5K or in the duathlon (2-mile run, 20-mile bike ride, and concluding 2-mile run).
  • Onsite registration begins at 6:45 a.m. and concludes at 7:45 a.m.
  • Register early at oblongchristianhome.org/id40.html .
  • Cost to participate is $30.
  • If participating as a team in the duathlon (one runner/one biker), cost is $60.
  • Entry fees are nonrefundable.
  • Participants receive a long-sleeve wicking T-shirt (if pre-registered by April 15), finisher medal, goodie bag, and post-race refreshments.
  • All participants are also eligible for randomly drawn door prizes.
  • Awards will be presented to men and women in six age categories.

  • 2013 Race Update:
  • Because of severe flooding in the area, this race will now be held on June 1, 2013 
  • All proceeds benefit the Oblong Children's Christian Home.

    Duathlon course description:
  • 2-mile run - flat (out and back); 20-mile ride - flat to gently rolling hills.
  • All duathlon participants must wear an ANSI or Snell approved helmet during the cycling race.
