The Race: The 5 kilometer (3.1 miles) course begins and ends in downtown Baltimore. For the safety of our runners, the 5K race course is closed to bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, and pets. Wheelchairs and baby joggers/strollers are welcome in the non-competitive 5K walk. No pets please.
Awards: The overall best time male and female runners will receive awards. Awards will also be presented to the top female and male runners in each age group: 15 & under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Official chip timing and scoring of the race is by Charm City Run Events.
Awards will also be given to the top individual fundraiser, the top team fundraiser, and the team with the most participants. Awards ceremony following the race.
Amenities: All paid participants will receive a race t-shirt (t-shirts available to first 2,000 registrants only). To guarantee a t-shirt, please consider pre-registering). Mile markers and water station on the course; splits provided at 1- and 2- mile marks. Post-race refreshments and snacks provided to all participants and volunteers.
Race Beneficiary: All proceeds from the Fiesta 5K will benefit the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins. The Center is the only international research organization dedicated solely to the disease. We bring together the best scientists, from a variety of disciplines, in an environment that removes barriers to collaboration and enables shared innovation. We drive new ways of thinking about ALS and help identify drug therapies to slow its progression.
