Dryden Lake Festival Triathlon ~ Results?

• Dryden Lake Triathlon:- Paddle 1.5 Miles, Bike 14 Miles, Run 3.1 Miles
• Goose 5K Run:- Run 3.1 Miles
• 1/2 Mile Fun Run:- Run 12 Mile

2013 Dryden Lake Festival Triathlon:

• The course starts where it did last year at the boat launch on the north side of the dam.  A shot gun start begins the first half mile sn cross the lake, keeping to the left of the buoys, a dog-leg right a quarter mile to the turn around and back, always keeping he buoys to the left. 
•  The boat take-out is on the south-west side of the lake at the wooden ramp.  Boats and paddles will be handled and stored by attendants.  This leg of the Tri ends after a short sprint to the top of the hill, crossing the timing mat.
•  The transition area is also the bike rack/ bike race staging area.
•  The time in the transition area counts toward the overall triathlon time.
   Triathletes begin the bike route on western end of the transition area. That timing mat will mark the beginning of the, one loop 14 mile bike course.   The bike route:

  Leaving the park, a right hand turn up West Lake Rd. continues on Lake Rd. due north.  A right turn on McClintock road begins a long hill until it merges with Virgil Rd. The course takes a right turn at Palmer Rd. then a left on Virgil Creek Rd., up a steep hill then right on Daisy Hollow Rd. continuing up the hill until it starts back down a long steep hill. At the base of the hill a right turn onto Willow Crossing merges into Lake Rd.  Last 2 miles on Lake, left on West Lake then left back into park. 

  the Bike dismount begins on West Lake Rd. just prior to turning into the Park.  You must Walk bikes to your rack position and then cross the timing mat and begin the 5K run

The 5k plus one tenth run:

This leg starts as you cross the same timing mat as the finish of the canoe/kayak leg run down onto the drive in and continue south until the gravel starts and then into the woods along the path jockeying around a few trees an onto the Jim Schug Trail.  A left turn onto Lke Rd. marks the one mile point. continue on Lake Rd. until turning left at the junction of West Lake Rd Down the hill into the park and cross the finish mat on the Park Rd.
