Looking for a challenging and fun race in Charlottesville? June 8th will
be the inaugural James Monroe 5K at Ash Lawn-Highland. The race is a
cross-country race at the historic home of James Monroe, offering
picturesque views of the Piedmont, creeks, wooded areas, and pastures in
addition to the historic areas. The course finishes on the historic
paths at Monroe's home.
Raffle: At race registration, raffle tickets will be available to purchase for a post-race raffle, given out during the awards ceremony. We will have gift packages and gift certificates from our sponsors, including Mellow Mushroom, Michie Tavern, ACAC, Trump Winery, and more. All money from the raffle tickets will go to benefit the historic mission of Ash Lawn-Highland.
The James Monroe Cup: The James Monroe Cup will be awarded to the fastest team of runners. There is no limit to the number of runners on a team, but the top 5 finishers' times will be scored. Any group of 5 or more may sign up as a team and is eligible to compete for the James Monroe Cup. If you have already signed up and want to join or create a team, please email [email protected].
