The Palmetto Half Marathon is not just a race, but an event to strengthen and support our community. In just four years, the event has given more than $120,000 to local charities. Proceeds from this years event will benefit Jubilee Academy and other local charity partners.
All Half Marathon participants will receive a finsher's medal and commemorative tech shirt. 5k participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Early registration is suggested to ensure a commemorative shirt in your size. Online registration will close on April 10, 2014 and day-of-race registration is only available for the Kids Fun Run. However, a t-shirt and finishers medal cannot be guaranteed for kids who register on race day.
The Half Marathon race course is a mix of flat terrain and rolling hills through The Woodlands and Wildewood neighborhoods of Northeast Columbia. The course is relatively fast and runner friendly for first-time half marathoners but challenging enough for veteran runners who want a unique and fast course.
The 5k race course takes runners through the Village at Sandhill and onto Clemson Road before looping around on the Two Notch Road exit ramp for your return to the Village. The course is fairly flat with a few small hills.
