2014 Put-in-Bay Charity 5k:

All Sport FUNdamentals will kick off its annual charity run on Victoria Weekday Saturday, May 17, 2014 in the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay, Ohio.
The race will begin in DeRivera Park with views of the harbor and Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial and will take you across the island of beautiful South Bass Island.
As you race for the finish both 5k and 10k participants will run along shoreline cliffs with views of Rattlesnake, Green, Middle Bass and Gibraltar Islands as well as historic Lonz Winery and Stone Laboratory.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department and Senior Center.

There are numerous routes that you could drive to get to Put-in-Bay. Here is a list of some of the most common roads traveled:
Leaving from Cleveland, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 75
Approximate Time: 1-1.5 hours
Take the Ohio Turnpike West or get on I-90 to Ohio Route 2 West. Take Exit 110 Sandusky Ohio Route 4. Turn left (North) on Route 4 to Ohio Route 2 West (Toledo). Take the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.
Leaving from Toledo, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 45
Approximate Time: 1 hour
Take either Ohio Route 2 or the Ohio Turnpike East. Exit 91 Fremont to Fremont Road North towards Port Clinton. 
Leaving from Columbus, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 125
Approximate Time: 2.25 hours
Take Ohio Route 23 North (High Street) to Route 98 North (Waldo Exit). In Bucyrus, Ohio merge onto Route 4 North. Route 4 will take you to Ohio Route 2 and you will turn left towards Toledo. Take the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.
Leaving from Dayton & Cincinnati, Ohio:
Approximate Miles: 210
Approximate Time: 3.75-4.25 hours
Take I-75 North to Ohio Route 6 East. In Fremont youll take 6 to Route 53 North (Fremont Road). When you get to Route 2  take Route 2 East to Catawba Island Exit 53 North for ferry dock.
Leaving from Detroit, Michigan:
Approximate Miles: 93.5
Approximate Time: 1.75 hrs
Take I-75 South to Toledo. Take I-280 East to Ohio Route 2 East (Oregon). Take the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.
Leaving from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania:
Approximate Miles: 196
Approximate Time: 3.25 hours
Take Pennsylvania Turnpike I-76 West to Ohio. I-76 becomes Ohio I-80 (Ohio Turnpike). Take Ohio Turnpike to Sandusky Exit 110 Route 4 and take the Catawba Island Route 53 North Exit and continue on Route 53 North to the ferry dock.

Approximate Time: 4.5 hours
Indiana Turnpike I-90 East to I-80/I-90 to Ohio Turnpike East. Exit 91 Fremont to Fremont Road North to Port Clinton.
Leaving from Indianapolis, Indiana:
Approximate Miles: 276
Approximate Time: 4.5 hours
Head north on Indiana State Route 37 to I-69 (still on SR 37) North. Take Exit 148 Angola/Lagrange and turn right on the ramp for US 20. Turn east onto US 20 and follow it for about 15 miles to Ohio State Route 49. Turn right (south) onto Route 49 to the Ohio Turnpike I-80/I-90 ramp. Follow the turnpike East to Fremont Exit 91. Follow above directions to the ferry dock.

Pre-registration is encouraged and will be at the event location in DeRivera Park on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 5-8pm. 
You can sign up for the races on event day. 
Registration and race-day sign ups will open Saturday morning at 7:00am at the event location (DeRivera Park). 
5k/10k Race starts at 9:05am and the Kids FUN Run will begin at approximately 10:00am. 

Additional Information


Race day (Saturday, May 17) the first Miller Ferry boat to the island is at 6:30am followed by a 7:30am ferry.
If you are not staying Friday night on Put-in-Bay we urge you to be on the 7:30am boat (leaving Catawba, heading to Put-in-Bay) at the absolute latest in order to guarantee you get registered and to the event location in time for the start of the race. 
If you are not participating in the race and are only coming to the island as a spectator of the Put-in-Bay 5k/10k you can get on the 8:00am boat and be able to see the start of the race (IF YOU ARE RUNNING THE RACE MAKE SURE YOU GET ON THE 6:30am OR 7:30am MILLER FERRY BOAT).

If you do not register by April 30 we cannot guarantee size of shirt or if you will be able to receive a shirt.
