Description

There's no better time and event to start spring training than with the fourth annual Robin Run.

The Robin Run is a sanctioned event of the Return of the Robin Hockey Tournament held in Rochester. The Robin Run will be a 5k run/walk and NEW FOR 2014 a 10K run and KIDS 1/2 mile.

You can run the Robin Run as a serious runner or as a beginner. The events are chip timed and managed by Anderson Race Management. These races have unique course routes which do not follow the same trials that most of the runs in Rochester plot. The courses begin and end at the Rochester Rec Center. There is a pre and post-race gathering space inside the Rec Center gym with showers and locker rooms. There is also a bloody mary bar and all sorts of goodies at the post race party. There are unique race medals for the top three runners of each 10 year age group (both male and female) and all runners will receive a Robin Run T-shirt.

NEW FOR 2014:

Kids Run 1/2 MILE

Come run with ROBBIE . the official mascot of the Return of the Robin. This year the Robin Run will be kicked off by a kids race come early and cheer on the kids before you race. All kids 10 years or younger are encouraged to come to the Robin Run and participate in a 12 mile out and back race. Pre-registered kids will receive a Return of the Robin medal. Entry fee is $5

10K - Uses the same trail system as the 5K but proceeds South to Cascade Lake Park

Tournament Activities:

We encourage beginners, casual runners, walkers as well the very competitive and serious runners. Just plan on having fun! All runners/walkers receive tournament bands that provide the same deals that the hockey players receive including free and/or discounted entries to all ROTR Tournament activities including the tournament banquet, silent auction, Hairball concert ($10 entry), beer gardens, poker tournament, bean bag tournament, indoor tailgating, beer pong tournament, hotel discounts and much more.

This is an unique run and one that offers loads of fun both on the trail and events throughout the day and eve. Please come to Rochester and join the ROTR fun!

PROCEEDS:

The proceeds go directly to the Fitch-Dickman Foundation (an organization that supports and mentors youth wanting to get into sports). However this year the proceeds will be used to help support long time Robin Run and ROTR volunteer and mother in her fight against cancer.

This race is a BLAST hope to see you in Rochester this spring!
