2014 Running Over Cancer 5K Run/Walk:
Last year twelve local high schoolers got together to organize the 1st Annual Running Over Cancer 5K. It was a huge success! More than 200 people came out, and we raised over $8,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Now the race is back for 2014, and we hope even more people will enjoy our race, and that we will raise even more money for the American Cancer Society.
This year, nearly 1.5 million people will hear the words "You have cancer," and there's a good chance that some of them will be people we know and love.
We have chosen to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays where cancer never steals another year from anybodys life by helping the American Cancer Societys work. With our help, the American Cancer Society saves lives and creates more birthdays by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.
For nearly a century, the American Cancer Society has fought for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. Will you join us?
The race is at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.
The course is 5 kilometers long consisting of fine gravel and grass surfaces.
There will be a water station at the halfway point.
In addition to your chip time there will also be a digital clock at the finish.
