Welcome to the 3rd annual Kola 5K bunny run! The race will be held at theIllinoisArboretum on April 19th, 2014 at 9 a.m. and all proceeds will be used to help promote education among less fortunate children. Last year we raised around $1,300. This year we hope to exceed that and use the money raised to provide scholarships to students interested in coming to the University of Illinois. The college of ACES hosts a Research Apprenticeship Summer Program that is all expenses paid. Kola will cover any additional travel/food expenses students may incur that would prevent them from being able to participate.
Awards:
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers for the individual race. For the team race there will be awards given for the top team. All the members of the team will race at the same time and scores will be calculated by adding the four members' times together. The lowest cumulative time will be the winner.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to run on the home course of the Fighting Illini men's and women's cross country teams! The Arboretum features a grass course with one large hill that will have to be tackled twice before finishing. There will be free parking along the street and in the Veterinary school parking lot.
