Running is sport at its most elemental, requiring speed, stamina and kilometers of experience. Road races give participants the chance to test the limits of their endurance at different distances throughout the week. This event at the 2014 Gay Games presented by the Cleveland Foundation occurs on Tuesday, 12 August, with runners from around the world competing in the10K road race competition.
This event will have age groups within the mens and womens divisions. The top times in each genders age group will receive a medal. A participants age group is determined by that persons age as of the first day of competition, Sunday, 9 August 2014. The age groups are as follows: 18-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-95, 95-99, 100+
Athletes may only compete in one age division.
Participants in the 10k will be provided with a bib which will contain a timing chip.
