Welcome to the Summer Solstice 5K Fun Run!
Celebrate the longest day of the year with a 5K fun run to benefit Girls on the Run of the Eastern Upper Peninsula! Join us for our fifth annual celebration of community, active lifestyles, and the summer sun!
The 5th Annual Summer Solstice 5K Fun Run will be held on the Summer Solstice, June 21, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. at Sherman Park in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. Please join us for what promises to be a very special event!
Race Course
The Summer Solstice 5K Fun Run will follow one loop, beginning at Sherman Park, winding through the tree-lined streets of the Lakeshore neighborhood, and finishing back at Sherman Park.
Registration and Packet Pick-Up
Register on-line at www.summersolstce5k.org. We are pleased to announce there will be a $5 discount per participant when registering in groups of four or more.
Registration Fees:
* Before 6/1/14: Individual $20/Child 12yrs and under, $15
* 6/1/14 - 6/20/14: Individual $25/Child 12yrs and under, $20
* Day of Event: Individual $30/Child 12yrs and under, $20
Packet pick-up will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. under the tent at Sherman Park. Race day registration will close at 7:30 p.m. Register early! A special commemorative 5th Anniversary Summer Solstice 5K t-shirt is guaranteed if registered by June 1st. For the first time, tech tshirts will be available, in adult sizes, for an additional $5.
Awards
Awards will be given for the overall male, female and master finishers, as well as the top three male and female age group finishers, following the completion of the race. Race results will be posted on this website by the Tuesday evening following the race.
Post-Race Celebration
Stick around Sherman Park after the race for refreshments, music, and fun!
Parking
The main parking area for the race will be the parking area for Sherman Park, located off of 24th Street. If this area is full, please pay careful attention to signs directing you to overflow parking. Some areas will be restricted and parking outside of the designated areas may results in tickets or towing. Please park only in authorized areas.
