The inaugural Chelsea and Quiana 5k Fun Run/Walk will be on Saturday, April 26!!
**Onsite registration will be available 8-8:45am, CASH ONLY**
**The run/walk will start at 9am rain, sun, or snow**
The lives of Chelsea Magoon and Quiana Long were cut short by a very disturbed man who decided to kill both of them and then kill himself. Quiana was a beautiful mother of 3 who was full of life and Chelsea Magoon was only 21 and although she didn't have children of her own she knew how important school and activities are to children .
This 5k walk/run is to remember Chelsea and Quiana and to raise awareness about domestic violence. Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior perpetrated by an intimate partner against another. 1 in every 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Sadly, most domestic violence goes undetected or is not reported because people are afraid to come forward or ashamed to admit they are victims.
Half of the money raised will be donated to the Grand Rapids YWCA in Quiana Long's name and the other half will go towards the Chelsea Magoon scholarship fund at Vestaburg High School to assist students in need.
