Celebrate the breathtaking views of Oahu's Ka Iwi Coastline
Once again, Hui Nalu Canoe Club honors one of Hawaii's most beautiful places with the 2nd Ka Iwi Coast Run & Walk. Starting at sunrise on Sandys Beach and ending at Hui Nalu Canoe Club on Maunalua Bay (4.0 miles), you can enjoy the Ka Iwi at your own pace. All participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a handmade glass fishing float. All proceeds benefitting Hui Nalu Canoe Club. The fun run begins with the rise of the sun over the Ka Iwi Channel at 6:30am as a special Hawaiian oli (chant) composed for the event is performed. The fun run starts at Awawamalu (now known as Sandy Beach) and continues around the Ka Iwi coastline, passing Halona and onto Hanauma Bay and then finishing at the Hui Nalu Canoe Club halau on the shores of Maunalua Bay.
Directions
Sandy Beach is located at 8800 Kalanianaole Hwy. on Oahu's East facing shores. From Waikiki or Honolulu, take H1 East to Kalanianaole Hwy. until you reach Sandy Beach.
