This is a flat, fast course for runners looking for a PR or for the first time or novice runner/walker looking for a course that is relatively flat.  There is a 5k run/walk and a 10k run.  The course is a 3.1 mile 5k and the 10k is 2 laps of the 5k course.  This race will be chip timed by www.smileymiles.com  Top 3 overall male and female winners of the 5k and 10k will be awarded and top 3 male and female in age groups for the 5k and 10k will be awarded.  There is also a team competition for the 5k only with 3-5 individuals on a team in male female and co-ed categories.  The procedes benefit the Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease, and Jameson Memorial Hospital.  After the race there is a festival downtown New Castle and a Zambelli fireworks display to celebrate the fireworks capital of America!!!  Come out and Run For Your Heart!!!!
