This marathon is not for everyone. This course has a 1.45 mile long section of trail running (2.90 miles total when considering the course goes out and back) that is a level dirt road and a grass covered canal tow path. This includes a bridge crossing that has a stone surface. We also run on the grass covered Danville levee on the way back into Danville. These sections are safe and (in the opinion of most runners) fun and interesting to run, but if these surfaces upset you in any way, you might want to further investigate the course before registering.
- The race IS NOT a Boston qualifier at this time. This is a future consideration.
Some portions of the course have limited vehicular traffic. Though every effort is made to ensure the safety of racers, organizers expect participants to stay on the shoulder of the road as if they were in a training run (running into traffic).
