Description

The Indie is a 5k/10k/Kid Dash!  The Indie is the first race of its kind to come to the Benson-Ames part of Omaha and is being held on July 5th.  Local bands will be performing during the race and runners will be able to sample local food and drink from Benson businesses.

The run is designed to showcase neighborhoods assets, foster new entrepreneurial growth and celebrate the independent spirit of the area’s emerging arts and entertainment culture in conjunction with the nation’s birthday.  All the proceeds of the race are going to benefit Benson Park and Fontenelle Park. 

Course Info
The routes start and end in the historic Benson business district while taking you on a scenic loop through two parks and residential areas. The fully paved course boasts a variety of terrain, including a couple of memorable hills, but you won’t be feeling them as you come striding in to the finish down the middle of Maple Street.

The kids’ dash is free, but you must sign up to participate.

Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners as well as by age bracket. The top male and female runners also will receive a cash bonus! We will also be giving an award to the runner who shows us the best indie spirit. So come dressed and ready to run!
