2015 Five Points of Life Marathon Race Weekend:
• The 10th Annual Five Points of Life Race Weekend will take place February 14-15, 2015 in Gainesville, Florida.
• Runners get a chance to run through the campus of the University of Florida and the city streets of Gainesville at the Five Points of Life Marathon, Half Marathon & Relay, which draws around 2,500 runners each year for a race that raises money and awareness for the five ways to share life with others: blood, apheresis, marrow, cord blood and organ & tissue.
• Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate in either the full, 26.2-mile marathon or the 13.1-mile half marathon, both of which start at 7:00 AM on race day.
• There will also be a 5K, Kids Marathon and Fitness Expo on Saturday, February 14.

The race begins at the university's Center for the Performing Arts on Hull Avenue and follows a course through the city, finishing near the start. From the starting line, runners follow a course that takes them through the city which includes a loop in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and downtown Gainesville. The course also includes Northwest 16th Boulevard where Frank Shorter, Olympic gold medalist, trained for the 1972 Olympics.
