Description

2015 Honolulu Triathlon:

Top athletes from around the nation participated and the winners went on qualifying for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, representing our country in Athens, Greece during the 2004 Olympics.

At first, this might sound like an event only for professional athletes, but in fact the Honolulu Triathlon also attracts many people who never tried a triathlon before.

Compared to the Ironman distance (3.8K Swim/180k bike/42K Run), our event focuses on the Olympic distance (1.5K Swim/40K Bike/10K Run) and Sprint distance (750m Swim/20K Bike/5K Run). We also include a Junior, Youth and Kids Triathlon and a 10K/5K run.

How about a refreshing swim, bike ride along the shore, followed by a nice stroll through the park?

Our participants will not be overburdened with the harshness of an endurance race, but rather challenge themselves to try something new.  The most important thing is that you try!

Bring your family and friends to this truly unique Festival of Sports and participate in one of our many races. Give it a try; you will not regret it!

See you at the finish line!

    40K Bike
  • The Bike Course starts from the transition at Magic Island located in Ala Moana Beach Park.
  • Cyclists head out onto Ala Moana Blvd. at the east entrance of the park and ride west to the Nimitiz Highway and then head to the Kamehameha Highway.
  • Athletes make a u-turn before the famous gate to Pearl Harbor at Arizona Blvd. and head back east on the Kamehameha Highway which will take them back under the viaduct where they will make a right turn onto Lagoon Drive.
  • Once on Lagoon Drive athletes ride a simple out and back route which takes them pass the Honolulu International Airport and out to the Reef Runway which also serves as a alternate landing site for the USA Space Shuttle.
  • When they return to the viaduct cyclists will turn right back onto the Kamehameha Highway and under the viaduct. Athletes will continue to ride under the viaduct until they reach the Nimitz Highway and onto Ala Moana Blvd. as they head back to the transition area.
