Center for Companies that Care March to College 5K

• 5K March to College:- Run 3.1 Miles

5K MARCH TO COLLEGE 2015 is a chip-timed 5K race and fun run/walk that is dedicated to increasing college graduation rates among minorities and students with disabilities. Runners, professionals, families, students and high school track teams are invited to participate.  This past year, approximately 1200 people participated in the event as estimated by Center for Companies That Care President Marci Koblenz. Kicking off the 5K race is a COLLEGE FAIR that allows area universities and corporations to connect with high school students and to help them plan their paths to college and eventual careers in Chicago’s communities.  30 colleges and universities and 800 CPS students participated in the 2014 College Fair. Proceeds from the March to College benefit Companies that Care initiatives which help underserved teens plot a course to college, get accepted into a good college, and acquire the skills and resources necessary to complete college within 4 years. 

March to College and College Fair are held at Grant Park’s Upper Hutchinson Field.  The College Fair starts at 2:30PM, and the race begins at 5:30.  Register on-line at www.marchtocollege.org.
