The event will be held on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. The event will feature a Half Marathon, 10K and 5K and one-mile family walk and include people of all ages and abilities. Whether participants run, walk, stroll, roll, use a wheelchair or hand cycle, everyone can enter. There will be games for children, live music, food, prizes, awards and much more!
The inaugural event attracted over 1,800 participants and volunteers and included several honored guests including U.S. Congressman James Langevin (RI), who serves on the Armed Services Committee, House Permanent Select Committee on intelligence and the only member of Congress who is a quadriplegic. He was joined by U.S. Congressman Ted Deutch (FL), U.S. Congressman Allen West (FL), Commissioner Steve Abrams, Boca Raton Mayor Susan Whelchel and numerous local, regional and Florida State Representatives.
All event proceeds will benefit Stand Among Friends' programs and services that support individuals with disabilities.
