Plan a day with your girlfriend brigade!  The bright lights of Las Vegas are just 18 miles away from the site of the Girls on the Go Run Series at Lake Mead National Recreation Area on April 26, 2015. Events include half marathon, 10k, 5k and kid’s dash. The race route offers a spectacular view of Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Colorado River Bridge. The out and back is a packed and paved trail with a gradual incline.  The elevation gain is only 497 feet.  This beautiful course includes the historic Rail-to-Trails, a route used in the 1930’s to bring supplies to Hoover Dam. Other highlights are the six tunnels in each direction and a turnaround on the top level of the parking structure at Hoover Dam. Half marathon participants receive a technical shirt and larger medal with sublimated ribbon.  Athletes in the 10k, 5k and kids dash receive beautiful medal and Women’s T-shirt. The finish line is a collective celebration with music and refreshments. This is a women’s race but men are welcome to register. Awards for the women half marathon, 10k, and 5k: Gift certificates for 1, 2, 3 overall winners. Female Age Group Division Awards 1, 2, 3. Men over all winners in each event receive additional medal. Opening pricing from $30 5k, $40 10k and $70 half marathon and kid’s dash is $15.  Because runners like to do good deeds, we are collecting canned goods for Feeding America. http://www.girlsonthegorun.com
