Description
2015 Florida Challenge Half-Marathon & 5K:
The Florida Challenge is a 13.1 mile and a 5K trail run on beginner and intermediate single track trails.
This race was named one of the 32 best trail runs in the Country.
The location is the beautiful new Alafia River State Park, which has some of the best trails in Florida.
The trails are technical and they make a great challenge.
If you only do one trail run in your life, this is the one you should do.
With great T-shirts, fantastic food, a DJ and a gorgeous and a challenging course - it is sure to leave you with a smile on your face.
There will be a split start again this year. The Half-Marathon will start at 8:00 a.m., and the 5K will start at 8:30 a.m. Directions
From I-75
Exit 246 (Apollo Beach / Rt. 672)
Turn right on to Big Bend Road (heading east)
Go 1.25 miles turn right (south) onto U.S. 301 (7-11 on corner)
1.5 miles to Rt. 672 East (turn left)
Follow 672 for 11.5 miles
672 dead ends at first stop sign (Rt. 39)
Turn left (north on Rt. 39) for 1 mile
Follow race signs until you reach Alafia River State Park entrance
Turn right into park, & take first left (around the traffic circle) and follow signs to race start.
There is a $4 fee per car.
