Description

The FARA FEST Lei Day 5k is a third annual Jimmy Buffett themed run benefiting the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA). Friedreich's Ataxia is a rare, life shortening nerve disorder that affects the individual's ability to walk and to live independently. It can lead to serious complications including heart disorders and diabetes. Currently there is no cure, but with your help there is hope!

In just two year time, the FARA FEST event has donated over $60,000 to FARA in efforts keep research continuing. The event has doubled in size and continues to grow! Participants enjoy dressing up in their Parrot Head costumes and getting Lei-D at the finish line! Each Participant receives a finisher medal, lei, and free t-shirt. The event provides a large Tailgate Post Race Beach Party to include live music, free food, drinks, bounce house, adult and kids tailgate activities with a bounce house and more!
