The Land Regatta Run/Walk serves as the Be3's annual fundraising opportunity to support local community projects. The project selection is completed in collaboration with the City of Port Washington and other local civic organizations in order to identify a community improvement opportunity which aligns with the vision for Port Washington's future. Proceeds from this year’s event will fund the installation of an adult outdoor fitness park in Port Washington’s Upper Lake Park.
The Land Regatta Run/Walk opens the Saturday festivities for the Maritime Heritage Festival at the Coal Dock Park.
This is a family-friendly chip-timed event designed to appeal to all abilities with two course distances available. The 4 mile run/walk winds through the downtown before climbing the hill to the Upper Lake Park, travels through the residential Spinnaker area, and returns to the Coal Dock Park via the Interurban Trail through the bird sanctuary area. The 2 mile run/walk begins with the Harbor Walk and ensures maximum view of the lakefront and attractions brought to us by the Maritime Heritage Festival before returning to the Coal Dock Park from the downtown area. The 2 mile run/walk does not incorporate the hill to Upper Lake Park.
Both courses will be timed and top placing participants by age group will be recognized during the award ceremony scheduled for 10:15am. All advance registrants aged 14 & up will receive a t-shirt with registration. Youth aged 13 & under may participate free (no t-shirt included).
