Description
2015 Lake Tejas Triathlon, Duathlon & 5K Run:
• The Lake Tejas Triathlon is a 600 yard swim, a 13 mile bike route with lots of hills, and a 5k run mostly on a dirt road. The duathlon is a 1 mile run, followed by the same 13 mile bike and 5k run. This is one of the most scenic, spectator/family friendly, and least expensive of all the triathlons in Texas.
• Great for beginners, but a challenge for the experienced athlete.
• The triathlon will also feature a Texas vs. Louisiana Team Shootout.
• All teams that register will get a special discount.
• When you register, be sure to claim your team discount.
• Same day packet pick-up and a 9:30 am start means you do not have to spend the night anywhere.
• The lake is just off Hwy. 69 only 45 minutes south of Lufkin and is less than a two hour drive from Houston.
• Entries will be capped at 250.

Surrounded by the beautiful Pineywoods of East Texas, Lake Tejas is clean, calm and picturesque.
Swim: 400 meter open water lake swim.
Bike: 13 miles on hilly, paved roads.
Run: 5 kilometers on a wooded trail.Directions
Lake Tejas is a 45 minute drive southeast of Lufkin, 2 hours from Houston, and 1 hour from Beaumont.
From Hwy 59 in Corrigan, Texas, take 287 East to Chester.
Turn left onto 1745.
Go 14 miles to Colmesneil.
Turn onto 256 East.
Go past Hwy 69 one mile.
Lake Tejas is on Hwy 256 on the left side of the road coming out of Colmesneil.
