Running For Those Who Can't...

• Excellence in Leadership 5K 2015:- 5K

Through the Excellence in Leadership program, a team of eight students from Ball State University will be putting together a 5K run/walk and partnering with other students of the university and Muncie community to bring in the idea of gratitude for our troops, past, present and future. A t-shirt is available during the time of registration that will be a black short sleeve shirt with our slogan "Running for those who can't.. to keep the caissons rolling." This t-shirt will be offered for free up until March 5th. After this date, we cannot guarentee a t-shirt. We ask that participants bring a donation item for care packages to be sent to the troops, i.e. socks, beef jerkey, candy and gum (excluding chocolates or other candy that can melt), toiletries, reading material, reminders from home and/or a money donation. Other items can be looked up with a simple Google search. For those who do not wish to run or walk the 5K, there will be a shorter route, or the oppurtunity to stay around the start/finish line and help put together and write thank you notes and put together care packages. 

*There will be optional obstacle courses along the track that will give participants the idea of what the troops go through to train for their position. Awards will be given for the first male and female to pass the finish line having completed the entire 5K and all five obstacles as well.

Registration begins at 9:00 am, followed by speakers at 9:30 and the run/walk will begin at 10 am the moring of the 28th of March. After participants finish the course, they are allowed to leave or stay and talk. Refreshments will be provided at the finish line.  

**The only fee is $10.00 for registration and $2.00 for the sign-up fee. Any profits made will be donated directly to the our mission of helping past veterans who have been wounded.
