Are you up for the Challenge?

The 15K course is scenic and challenging with a downhill finish. The first 5 miles are relatively flat, winding through scenic residential Mountain Brook. Miles 5-7 are hilly (challenging). After the third aid station there is a 2 mile coast to the finish (aka the downhill). The race is a USATF Certified Point to Point course. Start and Finish are 9.3 miles apart.

Race Day Schedule of Events:
6:15am - Registration & Packet Pickup Open
6:30am - 1st Bus departs to Start Line at Vulcan
7:15am - Registration & Packet Pickup Closes
7:30am - Last Bus departs to Start Line at Vulcan
8:00am - Start of 15K (close to Vulcan Park at the McDonalds)
9:00am - Post Race Festivities begin Liberty Park Animal Hospital (near Miss Liberty)
10:30am - Awards 

Race Day Logistics - Important Please Read
Start Line: The start area is located at the intersection of Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. (old 20th Street S.) and Valley Avenue (at the base of Vulcan Park, by McDonald). [Directions | Map] 
** NOTE** Packet Pickup and Late Registration will be ONLY at the Finish Line.

Baggage transportation is provided to the start area to the finish area.

Race Day Parking:
Parking will be available around the Finish Area - check back for details.

Transportation from Finish Line to Start Line:
Transportation will be provided from the parking lot of Liberty Park Animal Hospital (near Miss Liberty 3810 River Run Drive, Birmingham, Al 35243) to Vulcan Park area for the start of the race. Please be there early (FIRST BUS WILL LEAVE AT 6:30 am. LAST BUS LEAVES PROMPTLY AT 7:30 am. Please do NOT wait for the last bus. If it’s full, you WILL BE responsible for your own transportation ). Baggage transportation is provided from the start area to the finish area. 

NOTE: THERE WILL NOT BE ANY TRANSPORTATION BACK TO VULCAN PARK AFTER THE RACE.

For runners who park at the start area, be PREPARED TO FIND YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION BACK. THE BUS WILL NOT MAKE RUNS BACK TO THE START!!!!!!! If you do park at the Start Area, parking is available across the street in the Jefferson County Board of Education parking lot. (parking will be at your own risk)  DO NOT park at the McDonalds or Dr. Offices across from McDonalds on 20th Ave. South, they are open of business.

AID STATIONS/MEDICAL INFO:
There will be 3 aid stations on the course, located in the vicinity of miles 3, 6 and 7.5. We encourage each runner to drink at each water stop to ensure adequate hydration.

Port-O-Lets will be located at the start and finish areas, there will be NO Port-O-Lets on the course.

The last runner will be followed by a sweeper vehicle. If you do not feel that you can complete the run, please let him/her know and we will get you back to the finish line.

Medical:
The race supplies a physician for the event at the finish line. If you are not feeling well, one of the Mountain Brook police officers working the course can radio for aid.

Note:  Awards and shirts will NOT be mailed.

POST RACE:
All activities will be held in the parking lot. Food and Beverages will be provided after the run.

Bib Transfer Policy and Refund Policy: Entry fee is non-refundable. Bib Number Transfer to another person is NOT available to BTC Race Series participants. Bib Number Transfer to another person is only available if registered online for STS race, and Must be completed via RunSignUp before Wednesday, April 15, 2015.  On race day: There are No refunds or bib number transfers of registration. This event will occur rain or shine warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds.
