Course Info
The Lake Placid Classic, previously known as the Lake Placid / North Elba Half Marathon & 10K, is run on a relatively flat course with a few undulating hills through the historic Olympic Village of Lake Placid. The Start is in the front of the Olympic oval, proceeds around Mirror Lake and out past the Olympic Ski Jumps. As you approach mile 5, runners descend the course’s only significant hill (as you run down, remember, you will be coming back up this hill just as you near the finish line). Once down the hill, you will run out and back on the scenic River Road, with the half-marathon running along the AuSable River. The 10K turnaround is a half mile out on River Road. Will the leaves be changing color for this year’s race? We’ll welcome the participants to the finish line with music, cheering and fun! And oh, yes, we will have plenty of liquids and food to fill you back up after your great run.
