Strawberry Festival 5K & Fun Run

• Fun Run (~1/2 mile):- Fun Run .5 Mile

5K RACE (9:00am):
The 2015 Strawberry 5K will be even better in its second running with an exciting new race route!  The 5K will start on Rigsbee Avenue at Fullsteam Brewery and wind its way through the friendly Central Park district neighborhoods. After a loop through Duke Park, the race will hit the paved Old Duke Trail before crossing Washington Avenue to follow the fast, flat Ellerbe Creek Trail back to Foster Street and the finish in front of Central Park School for Children. 

The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Free school organized childcare will be available for parents wishing to run the race!

FUN RUN (9:30am):
We are excited to introduce a kids fun run this year. The fun run will use the same start as the Strawberry 5K event, but will circle the block surrounding Central Park School for Children and Old Duke North Park in a clockwise direction, following Geer Street, to Foster Street, to Trinity Avenue, to North Street, and then back down Geer Street to the finish on Rigsbee Street in front of Fullsteam Brewery.  The total distance is approximately 0.70 miles. The race route is the same as the Friday morning walks done by the classes at Central Park School for Children in the last quarter of each year.
