Description
2015 Missouri's First 10 Mile & 10K Race Series:
• A series of 8 races in 8 different cities spread out across Missouri.
• One race per month with the main distance being 10 miles.
• There will also be a 10K option available.
• Trophy to top 3 finishers in each age group.
• Anyone who completes all 8 races regardless of finishing time will receive a jumbo medal to recognize their achievement of conquering all the courses.
Course Info
The course starts at Ellis-Porter Riverside Park and travels on the Greenway Trail, the streets of Jefferson City, through the old Missouri State Penitentiary, and across the Missouri River.
Runners will pass the gas chamber and cell blocks of the original Missouri State Penitentiary, the Governor’s Mansion and the Capitol, to name a few things on the route.
Jefferson City has some hills, but the scenery makes up for them. The 10k follows the same route, but it does not cross the Missouri River.
