Hello,

My name is Sharon Blank, and I am Publicity Chairman of the Friends of Screven County Animals (FoSCA) located in Screven County, GA.  We are a non-profit, all-volunteer 501(c)3 animal rescue group.  Our annual 5K is a major fundraiser for us, and we hope that you can help us to help the animals!  I have attached one of our flyers, if you are interested.

Cost of entry: $25, includes a t-shirt (while supplies last)

Start time: 7 am, Saturday May 2, 2015

End time: 10 am (note that our website says it ends at 1 pm - this is a typo!)

Special details: Dogs on leash, who are friendly and up to date on their shots, are welcome to join the fun!

Friends of Screven County Animals (FoSCA)

A pleasant run through a nice neighborhood, with plenty of trees for shade, a nice view of two small lakes, and water available at each mile marker.  Friendly, on-leash dogs are welcome, but must be up to date on shots.  All ages are welcome.

From Savannah: 

Head north on Hwy. 21 to Sylvania exit, approx. 58 miles. You will be on Main Street.  Follow Main St. through to the center of town (there will be a large fountain in the center of a roundabout - impossible to miss!)  Take a left at the fountain, you will be on Ogeechee Street.  Follow Ogeechee St. approx. 2 miles, until you see Farmers Furniture on your right.  The FoSCA Haven animal shelter is just past Farmer's Furniture, a white concrete building.  There is a large field just past FoSCA Haven for parking, the race will start in the park across the street from FoSCA.

From Augusta:

Follow Hwy. 25 south to Hwy. 21, just outside Millen.  Turn left onto Hwy. 21, follow Hwy. 21 south into Sylvania.  You will be on Mims Road, which dead-ends at Ogeechee Street. Turn left on Ogeechee St.. Follow Ogeechee St. approx. 1 mile, until you see Farmers Furniture on your right.  The FoSCA Haven animal shelter is just past Farmer's Furniture, a white concrete building.  There is a large field just past FoSCA Haven for parking, the race will start in the park across the street from FoSCA.

From South Carolina:

Follow Hwy. 301 south into Georgia.  At intersection with Hwy. 21, (first stoplight for Sylvania) turn left onto Hwy. 21. You will be on Mims Road, which dead-ends at Ogeechee Street. Turn left on Ogeechee St.. Follow Ogeechee St. approx. 1 mile, until you see Farmers Furniture on your right.  The FoSCA Haven animal shelter is just past Farmer's Furniture, a white concrete building.  There is a large field just past FoSCA Haven for parking, the race will start in the park across the street from FoSCA.

Medals will be given in men's, women's and children's categories.  Dogs are welcome, as long as they are friendly, up to date on their shots, and on leash for safety.  This is a fun run/walk, times will be taken but we are not certified by any of the race groups.  This is a major fundraiser for FoSCA, the Friends of Screven County Animals. FoSCA is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer non-profit animal rescue group.  All profits will go towards helping the animals of Screven County. We look forward to seeing you there!
