The mission of the NOCC is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for survivors. Cancer is second only to heart disease in the leading cause of death in the United States. Over 21,290 new cases of ovarian cancer are diagnosed every year. This year alone, the American Cancer Society predicts there will be 14,180 deaths due to ovarian cancer. The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Pittsburgh Chapter is holding their 15th annual Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer.
