Help the dancer beat the cancer!
Lila May's Tutu Trot

Lila was diagnosed with neuroblastoma a month after her second birthday. She had been living with an increasingly bad black eye and a limp in her right leg for around two months while we (her parents) were taking her to her pediatrician regularly as our concerns grew more and more. Cancer is so rare in kids that doctors don't even think to take blood tests to check for it, so we were told numerous times that kids just get hurt sometimes and she would start getting better soon. It wasn't until we took her to a follow up X-ray appointment in portland where the nurse who felt her belly and felt a mass had told us to go to the ER to get her blood tested for tumors. That night we found out that Lila had very significant signs of something called neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that is found only in children. The news was devastating and completely shocking. They sent us to the pediatric oncology floor at Doernbecher children's hospital to spend the night and thus we began our journey with neuroblastoma.
