Southeast Alabama Community Foundation (SACF)’s 5th Annual Half Marathon & 5K presented by Flowers Hospital raises funds for grants distributed to the Wiregrass region of Coffee, Dale, Geneva, Houston and Henry counties. Grants are awarded in several areas of need such as education, social services, health, youth development, the arts, and community development.
This year’s event will be Saturday, January 30 at Flowers Hospital (across from the Emergency Room, 4370 West Main Street, Dothan).
SACF Half Marathon is a community-wide event with hundreds of volunteers including tremendous support from Ft. Rucker, SACF advisory committee members, Presenting Sponsor-Flowers Hospital and other sponsors, Dothan Police Department, and the City of Dothan. In the past 4 years, the SACF Half Marathon has raised $90,000 for the community.
SACF is an affiliate of the Central Alabama Community Foundation and offers citizens in the Wiregrass region the opportunity to build long-term support for their community. Individuals may establish new funds to support specific purposes or organizations, or they may contribute to existing funds.
Packet pick-up will be at Flowers Hospital, main entrance from 12 to 6 p.m. Friday, January 29.
