About the Run: The Sorghum Day Festival is a long held tradition in Wewoka, OK that brings in visitors from all over the state. This year marks the 23rd year that there will be a 5k race the morning of the festival.  The race will start downtown at the intersection of 2nd and Wewoka and registration/packet pickup will be just down the street at the Tucker Law Office.  The race will finish four blocks south of the start at the Seminole Muesum at 6th and Wewoka.   

Cost, Regsitration, and More Info: The price to pre-register is $30 and race day registration will be available for $35.  The first 150 runners to sign up will get a Sorghum Day Festival T-shirt.  For more information contact Barry Tucker 405-257-2241 or visit www.sorghumfestivalok.gov

About Sorghum Day: Just after the race wraps up there is a parade through downtown and throughout the day there are lots of food and craft vendors along Wewoka Ave.

What is Sorghum ????
It's most commonly known for being made into Sorghum Molasses, which can be purchased at the Sorgham Day Festival. Sorghum is a grain that has many practical uses including being used for livestock feed and cooking.

The 5k Course: The race will be held on a certified 5k course - Sorghum Festival 5 km -OK11085DG (Click here for Course Map) that starts downtown among the vendors and booths of the festival and takes runners a 5k loop throughout Wewoka before finishing at the Seminole Muesum.
