Black Bear Marathon, Half-Marathon & 10K

• Half Marathon:- Run 13.1 Miles
• Marathon:- Run 26.2 Miles
• 10K:- Run 6.2 Miles

 The 2nd Annual Black Bear Marathon,  Half Marathon and 10K will take place on June 5, 2016 on the University of Maine Campus located in Orono, ME.  This event features a start in the UMaine Football stadium track and a run through the beautiful campus, along the river and through Orono and Old Town.  You will pass the Old Town Canoe Company (where they make the famous canoes) and return to campus via a paved bike path through the woods.  The course will feature cheer stations, music, and lots of water and powerade.

Registration:  Black bear marathon

The race starts at 7:30 AM and there is a 6 hour limit on the marathon course. Those who feel they will not finish the marathon in 6 hours can register for the early start at 6:30 AM (which will allow 7 hours). Early start is not available for the half marathon.

The full marathon is a double loop of that half marathon course and all three races begin together at 7:30 AM on June 21, 2015.  We will have a special warm-up area for UMaine Alumni and we will be honoring Father’s day for the event with a special treat just for Dad.

Registration prices go up after March 30, 2015 and race day registration is not available for the Marathon or Half Marathon. Registration for the 10K will be available until June 2o, 2015.
