The 3rd annual Ashley L. Lamb Memorial 5K Walk/Run for Colon Health Awareness is set on the scenic Athens-Hocking bike path and begins next to the nationally recognized skate park in the Athens Community Center complex. Registration and race day check-in begin at the Shelter House in front of the Athens City Pool.
Participants will head over to the basketball courts next to the skate park to prepare for the fast and flat course. The course winds up to the bikepath and there, athletes will veer left onto the bikepath. The course is a there-and-back race and water will be available at the mid-way turning point and at the finish line.
All folks who register by March 16, 2016 are guaranteed race day tshirts.
Race day registration begins at 10:00 a.m. Cash and checks are accepted forms of payment. All pre-registered particpants should arrive no later than 10:45 to check-in and pick up their t-shirts. The race begins at 11:00 am!
Free parking is available in the Athens City Pool parking lot. Although we are firmly in spring, it is still a good idea to bring a long sleeve shirt in case the weather is chilly. You may also want to bring a poncho in case of rain and sunglasses if it is sunny!
The most important item to bring is your enthusiasm and sunny disposition!
