Stride & Glide for IndependenceFirst is a family friendly day of fun including: 5K Run/Walk/Wheelchair, a Family Friendly Walk/Scavenger Hunt, "Zumba at the Zoo," Kids' Activities, Free Zoo Admission and Parking. 

Bring your friends, family and coworkers, choose your events and have a great day in support of IndependenceFirst.

Event details and schedule

7:30 a.m.  Registration Begins

Registration closes for each different event 15 minutes before that event begins

8:20 a.m.  5K Wheelchair - Chip Timed

8:30 a.m.  5K Run (Chip Timed) & Walk (Not Timed)

Walkers line up behind runners

8:30 to 11 a.m.  Kids' Activites (Indoor) 

Kids must be supervised at all times

9:00 to 9:30 a.m.  Post 5K Yoga (Indoor)

Fun Walk with Scavenger Hunt (Outdoor)

9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Awards for top male and top female in each age category

10 a.m.  Zumbathon (Indoor)

After your activities, enjoy a day at the zoo!

Stride & Glide supports the nonprofit IndependenceFirst through the IndependenceFirst Foundation. IndependenceFirst helps people with disabilities find jobs, accessible housing and transportation, participate in recreational activities, peer support groups and independent living skills classes, and much more.
