2016 Your Next Step is the Cure 5K Walk/Run:
- Please join us for the 5th Annual Your Next Step is the Cure 5K Walk/Run. This year we are joining forces with the Schmidt Legacy Foundation and combining their annual Gary R. Schmidt Memorial “Rise for a Cure” Walk/Run with our annual Addario Lung Cancer Foundation 5K Walk/Run. What happens when two foundations passionate about finding a cure for lung cancer join forces with YOU, our fired-up participants and supporters? Life-changing, difference-making results!
This supercharged event, Co-Chaired by USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, will take place on Sunday January 24 at Bonelli Park in San Dimas, CA. This 1,975 acre park has beautiful grounds, a large lake and is conveniently located in Eastern LA County, about a 30 min drive from Downtown LA and central OC.
Our goal is to raise over $100,000 for critical clinical research while you get a walk/run in the park – plus lots of family-fun activities including a kid’s dash, music and more. Patients and survivors will have a chance to talk and share and there will be an opportunity to hear from and speak with physicians, scientists and other lung cancer experts. It will be a day of fun and celebration as we gather together and Rise for a Cure!
Whether you plan to walk, jog or run, whether you choose to participate as an individual or as part of a team, we believe that Your Next Step is the Cure! We look forward to seeing you on January 24!
