Sundowner 5K

• Sundowner 5K:- Run 3.1 Miles

Since its beginning in 2000, the annual Sundowner 5K has become a "must run" event for area runners.  The unique characteristics of this race are the scenic USATF/CARA Certified Course on a beautiful tree-lined, paved trail in historic Pilcher Park.

There will also be a ONE MILE JUNIOR JOG for children twelve years old and under as well as a 200 YARD DASH for small children. Ribbons awarded to all youth participants. 

Families look forward to the great Outdoor Post Race Party in the pavilion.

This race has applied for and received the Chicago Area Runners Association designation as a CARA Certified Green Race. This race has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.
This race has also agreed to adhere to a set number of Green Practices that have been approved by CARA. The successful completion of these practices, recognize the achievement of an eco-friendly race.
