Alopecia areata is an auto-immune disease that causes people to lose their hair. It is unpredictable and so far has taken more than half of my young daughter’s hair. By the time we host our 5k in April, her hair will be completely gone. It is heartbreaking to watch my spunky, smart, beautiful daughter lose her hair and struggle with all that means. The unkind words from classmates, the strange looks in public, and being asked over and over, “So what is WRONG with you?”
Please help us do the only thing we can to fight this disease-raise funds for more research.
100% of the proceeds from the 5k will go to The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) that supports research of the causes and treatments of alopecia areata. They also advocate for children around the country struggling with alopecia areata and host patient conferences to help understand and cope with this disease.
