Run for Brighter Days

 - What do you run for? Join us and run for a tremendous cause. Suicide is now the 2nd leading cause of death for young people 15-29. Proceeds from our run are used to fund a national suicide awareness and prevention campaign called Be THAT Friend. Last year we touched communities IN 43 STATES. 

 This run/walk takes runners on a scenic course throughout Dargan's Pond and Clemson University's Research and Education Center. It is centered around one of the most beautiful but tucked away places in South Carolina. Trees covered in Spanish Moss, a breathtaking pond, and wildlife around every turn. It is a trail race, but the trail is mostly packed, free of roots etc., and is also wide. The race is held in conjunction with Clemson's Research and Education Center's Pee Dee Outdoor Discovery Day . There will be a lot of activities and fun! 

 The race will be chip timed using the same sophisticated timing equipment that is used in the Boston marathon! There will also be pictures taken as runners cross the finish line! 

 There will be a one mile FUN run for kids and walkers, as well as 5k and 10k for our serious runners. Racers will start first, followed by walkers.

 School, College, Church, Civic Club Competition: $1000 Scholarship prize for the School, College, Civic (Scouts, Brownies, Running Clubs etc.) or Church Team with the most participants/money raised (signing up as a team). 

 The 5k/10k race cost will be $25 if registered by April 15, then it will increase to $30, cost for the fun run will be $15 if registered by April 15, then it will increase to $20.
