- The 5th Annual Hope Inspired Ministries Extra Mile 5K+1/10K+1 will challenge runners to go the “extra mile” through downtown Montgomery. HIM teaches their students to go the extra mile in all that they do and wants runners to go the extra mile as well! Runners will have the option to participate in the 5K or 10K while running through historic and up-and-coming ares of downtown, with each group going up the “extra mile” hill to complete the race. The Extra Mile run is a time for runners to challenge themselves, while also having fun. This year, in addition to individual runners, the race is now open to team competitions. After the race, runners, friends and family can enjoy music, dancing, food from local restaurants, coffee, face painting and more!

The Extra Mile Race begins at the Amory in Downtown Montgomery. Pre-race day packet pick up is on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 8am-6pm at Hope Inspired Ministries located at 52 Adams Avenue. Race day registration and packet pick-up on January 7, 2017 is from 7:00-7:45. Race warm-up is from 7:45-8:00. 5k and 10k both begin at 8:00am.
