- This event is personal: Eileen Werndorfer of Brookfield, CT, has been battling Parkinson's Disease for almost fourteen years. She wanted to create something that brings awareness to a disease that affects over ten million people world-wide, raises money for research, and unites her community in her home town. One hundred percent of the race's proceeds go toward non-profits: Michael J. Fox Foundation for research, and Connecticut Advocates for Parkinson's to support people struggling with Parkinson's throughout the state.
The three-mile run will be a timed race around the block, starting at Brookfield Town Hall, down Federal Rd, and passing by the police station. The two-mile walk will take off in the other direction. ALL ARE WELCOME.
Come and celebrate hope with us at this event: TONS of raffles, water, snacks, and T-shirts will be availble. The first thirty people to sign up for the walk/run receive a complimentary Chick-fil-A card for a free sandwich in their welcome kit on the day of the event.
Please arrive at least thirty minutes early for registration, buying tickets for raffles, and parking. The race for both the walk and the run will begin promptly at 8:30 am.
