Color Me United 5K

• 5K:- Run 3.1 Miles

The theme for this year's 5K and Healthy Kids Day events is Color Me United. 

The 5K is a color run event with proceeds benefitting the Oskaloosa chapter of Iowa Reading Corps! It's $25 to run and comes with a LIVE UNITED tshirt. For kids 12 and under, it's just $15. The 5K route runs along the MCRF trail and by the Lacey Rec Complex, and back to the college. 

United Way of Mahaska County and the YMCA are coming together again this year to give adults and children a fun and exciting day, all while promoting our healthy living initiatives.

Healthy Kids Day events will be held in the Penn Activity Center from 8:30 am to 11 am, and include numerous free kid-friendly activities such as crafts, balloon animals, games, inflatables, community booths, face painting, raffle prizes, and more. Healthy Kids Day is free and open to everyone!

As always, the United Way is truly grateful for the support from our local business leaders, their employees and families.

• 7:00 AM - 5K Registration Opens
• 8:30 AM - Color Me United 5K Starts
• 8:30 AM - Healthy Kids Day Starts
• 10:00 AM - Kid's Fun Run on Upper PAC Track

Don't Forget...

If you're running the 5K:

• You must register before you start the race! Registration will be near the starting line. 
• Wear sunglasses and sunscreen!
• Wear running shoes and clothes you don't mind getting stained.
• If you have blonde, or light-colored hair, we recommend putting coconut oil in it to make getting color out later, easier. 

For Healthy Kids Day: 

• Grab an activities bingo card at the door when you arrive - if you complete all the activities, you get a prize!
