Lovelace Rio Grande Half Marathon & 5K 2016

A favorite course for walkers and runners is always fast and flat. It is sanctioned and certified by USA Track & Field to ensure the accuracy of the course distance.

Registration: Please register early! Prices increases after August 4th. We always order extra shirts but cannot guarantee event t-shirts for late registration (after August 4th). Active.com registration closes Thursday, August 11th at midnight Pacific time. Registration after that date can be done during the packet pick-up or on race day until 6am. 

Packet Pick-Up:  

Friday: August 12th from 11:00am - 6:00pm at Bosque Running Shop located at COORS & MONTANO - 6001 Winterhaven Dr NW Suite I Albuquerque, NM 87120. 

Saturday: August 13th from 11:00am - 5:00pm at the Hilton Garden Inn 2601 Yale Boulevard SE Abq, NM 87106.

Sunday: August 14th from 5:30am - 6:30am Race Day Packet Pick-up at the National Hispanic Cultural Center

Free Kids K: All Kids K participants will run for free. A $5 charge will apply to only those wishing to receive a race t-shirt. Call 505-503-8076 to reserve a t-shirt. Kid sizes are Youth Small & Medium. If you don't want a t-shirt, no need to register. Just show up, sign a waiver and a bib number will be distributed to your little athlete.

Awards: There will be an awards table where medals will be distributed for all age groups. There will also be an awards ceremony to recognize the top three overall women and men in the half marathon and 5K run.  All half-marathon participants will also receive finishers medals.

Age Groups: Top 3 males and female in each age division: (14 & under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-75; 75+). 

A Great Cause: A portion of the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics New Mexico, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental challenges (intellectual disabilities), giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
