Start the 4th of July off with a bang and join the gang at the biggest race in central Maine. Over 630 racers entered in 2015, making the 15th annual Friends on the 4th 5K central Maine's most popular race. With a start time of 8am on Monday, July 4th the race is open to all runners, joggers and walkers.
After a loop through downtown Winthrop, the course follows along the beautiful eastern shore of Maranacook Lake. (A race map can be found at www.watershedfriends.com "News & Events - Friends on the 4th 5K - Registration Form)
Pre-registration can be done at www.watershedfriends.com and is highly recommended. Pre-registration at $22 guarantees a free t-shirt and stuffed gift bag. Race day registration ($25) starts at 7am at the American Legion, 117 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop. There is no guarantee of a gift bag on race day.
Proceeds from this race support programs and projects offered by the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed, a 7,000 member organization whose mission is to "Protect and Improve the 28 Lakes and Streams of the Cobbossee Watershed."
